Wi-Secure will protect the phone based on security levels of the Wi-Fi connection such as WEP, WPA or WPA2 and will not allow other applications to access critical resources such as camera, contacts or gallery. Wi-Secure categorizes the security of the network into high, medium or low and permissions into dangerous, intermediate and low depending on what type of resource they are accessing.
Wi-Secure implements this functionality differently for marshmallow rooted devices and other unrooted devices. In unrooted devices, Wi-Secure will simply block an application if it is accessing a dangerous permission under a low network security.
Whereas in a rooted marshmallow device, Wi-Secure will not block an application instead it will revoke the access of that application to the dangerous permission under a low network security. As a result of this, the phone is protected from malicious users who can access personal data through an insecure network.
Wi-Secure has three different modes for it's users:
1) Adaptive
In this mode, Wi-Secure will automatically block the applications based on the security level of the network.
2) User Based
This mode enables the user to select the security level of the network manually such as high, medium or low. Based on that Wi-Secure will block the applications.
3) Customized
This is the advanced mode where users can block applications based on the level of the permissions such as dangerous, intermediate or low irrespective of the network security.
