We call this sequence the value selling sequence and it has 8 steps. The same sequence works extremely well for important meetings that may not involve a sale, but may be focused on resolving a difficult service problem or technical challenge. Whether it is a sales call or a meeting, it makes sense to plan how you want the meeting to go and what skills will be needed to achieve an optimum result. The first half of sequence is the DIAGNOSIS phase and the second half is the PROGNOSIS phase.
