The App uses the Uyghur Latin Yëziqi (ULY) transiliteration system. It is widely used since 2000 and now officially approved by the Xinjiang Language and Script Committee.
You can also select the word in alphabetical order by clicking “uyghur” in the menu bar.
When you get a hang of the Uyghur handwritings, your understanding of the Uyghur culture will improve naturally.
Uyghur is the language of everyday communication for nearly 8 million people, most of them Muslims in Xinjiang of China. Written in a modified Arabic script, Uyghur is closely related to Uzbek. The standard Uyghur is understood everywhere in Xinjiang .
維吾爾語簡稱維語，是一種突厥語族語言。為大多數維吾爾族的母語，有1000萬到1500萬使用者，是中華人民共和國新疆維吾爾自治區法定的官方語言之一。維吾爾語的使用者主要集中於中國新疆，中亞的哈薩克斯坦、吉爾吉斯斯坦和烏茲別克斯坦也有維吾爾語分佈，其他許多國家亦有維吾爾語移民社區。作為新疆的官方語言和新疆各少數民族通行語言，維吾爾語被廣泛的應用在廣播、電視和出版物等各個領域中。
