VariQuilt is designed to help you calculate cut or finished dimensions for quilt pieces. Six shapes are included at this time: square, rectangle, hexagon, half-square triangle, quarter-square triangle, 60º triangle. Select a shape, enter any one dimension that you know and it will calculate the rest. It will also tell you how many pieces you can cut from a width of fabric. By touching the info button or the shape icon, you will get further information including what the shape is, why you would use it vs. a different shape, the best way to piece it and how to cut it.
You can also use VariQuilt to scale pieces. Say you have a pattern that includes 12" blocks, but you want to make it with 5" blocks. Just set the scale factor based on the finished sizes and then every piece you enter will be scaled to the new size.
