If we look at the world, a large majority of people believe in God irrespective of whichever faith they belong to. Those who do not believe in god are the very small minority.
Even those who believe in God, more often do not know why they believe in God. If someone questions their belief, they find it difficult to answer and simply avoid such circumstances.
As kids, when we questioned our parents about why we have to follow these rituals or what is god all about, we were silenced & scared, “you should not ask such questions if you ask these you will go to hell”. Probably when they were kids even their parents did the same to them and because none of them knew the answer.
If one attempts to answer one question that answers leads to 10 more questions and it is a never-ending process, and we are sure to get stuck at some point where we have no answer.
Moreover, who has time in this busy life, of constant running to meet ends, anyway knowing all this does not fill our stomach.
But the heart of heart, we know God exists for sure, and when someone makes a bad remark or funny joke about our god or the rituals we get angry.
This is the pain that comes with belief without knowledge. You know what you believe is true, but you cannot convince others about it.
The belief that comes out of demonstrable knowledge is very powerful. It is unshakable because you will stand for what you believe in, even if the whole world denies it.
Someone for whom life has been a great challenge, and has faced difficulties at every stage, he/she can relate to this spiritual knowledge quickly. For someone whom life has been very kind & is a smooth ride, will have very little to relate to spiritual knowledge.
For today’s kids, their growth in thinking is faster than their body. They know of things beyond their age, you can’t scare them, you can’t silence them, but if we give them the knowledge that is convincing, and if it interests them, they will explore lot more.
But how can we give them knowledge about god if we ourselves lack it? This Spiritual quotient is for parents to relate to their own experiences, for kids to explore and for the family to stick together in the knowledge of supreme.
