The plan2flyLite app comes with two calculators:
* Weight and Balance
* Azimuth / Distance
The weight and balance calculator is ideal for students or renters that move between several aircraft. Even if you always fly the same aircraft, this tool allows for quick calculations when the loading arrangements differ from your typical mission.
Each aircraft definition is stored on your device allowing for quick calculations of weight and balance. All that is required is to select the aircraft from a list and enter the weights specific to your intended flight.
A calculated weight and centre of gravity is displayed for each of the following configurations:
* Take off
* Landing (provided the estimated fuel for the flight is also entered)
* Zero fuel
In addition to the calculations, each of the centre of gravity values are plotted on a Centre of Gravity graph.
The Azimuth / Distance calculator will perform its calculation on 2 points where you have provided the latitude and longitude directly, or have selected one or both points from a list of locations that you manage. There is also an option to view the coordinates using the map app installed on your device. This provides powerful situational awareness when planning to fly to a location that your are unfamiliar with, or rarely visit. Using your current charts and the image from your map app you will get a better overview of your destination and its environment.
