To get your U.S. citizenship, you must pass a U.S. Citizenship test, which has two components: an English Test and a Civics Test. The English Test consists of a Speaking and Understanding Test, a Reading Test and a Writing Test. The Civics test is about your knowledge of U.S. Government, U.S. History, U.S. Geography, U.S. Symbols and U.S. Holidays. This FREE guide offers all the resources needed to become a citizen:
1. Learn Civics Test: Here you will find the 100 civics questions and answers that you must learn with audio.
2. Challenge Questions: During your citizenship interview, the USCIS will ask you up to 10 of the 100 civics questions to test your knowledge of U.S. history, government, geography, symbols and holidays. You must answer 6 out of 10 questions correctly to pass the civics portion of the U.S. citizenship test.
3. English Test - Reading: During your citizenship test interview, the officer will test your ability to read in English by asking you to read a sentence in English. You will have to read one out of three sentences correctly.
4. English Test - Writing: During your citizenship interview, the USCIS officer will determine your ability to write in English by asking you to write a sentence in English. The officer will read out the sentence and you will have to write exactly what you heard. You will have three chances to write one sentence in English correctly
