The first of its kind, Pic Def is not just any dictionary app. Its text recognition (OCR) enables the user to detect text on the go and obtain the definition without having to enter the word manually.
Steps to get started :
• Take a picture of the content
• Crop the image
• Detect the text
• Obtain the defintion(s)
The app requires a camera in order to be able to take a snapshot. The text detection is made possible by Google's Vision API. Oxford API boasting a catalog of words over 350,000 retrieves the meaning of terms detected.
