Exceed Academy offers high quality academic education as well as extra-curriculum activities. Our pupils participate in ball games, athletics, drama and music. Exceed Academy performs well in these activities and represents the Sub-County in competitions at the Kakamega County level. The school looks forward to competing and excelling, at the National level, in all spheres because the Exceed fraternity abides by the school motto, “Excellence Guaranteed.”
The school is among few pioneer schools in Kakamega County to introduce foreign languages; namely, French and German. Other foreign languages will be introduced with time. In addition, the new Competency based Curriculum is already being implemented in ECDE and Lower Primary Sections. Information Technology (IT) is integrated in the learning process at all levels.
Exceed Academy embraced digital learning in 2017. The entire Exceed fraternity continues to build capacity in digital learning to be relevant in the current global age.
The school has a well stocked library to improve reading skills of our pupils. Apart from supplementary and revision books, the library has story books to improve both English and English languages of our pupils.
Exceed Academy encourages pupils to work hard with commitment and prayer without giving up with a view to achieving excellence. Pupils are encouraged to learn from previous mistakes and endevour to be better persons all the time. They are trained to be visionary leaders and are always eager to campaign for elective posts and/or vote for leaders. Elected leaders address fellow pupils during Assembly, guide and work with teachers to better improve the learning environment in school. Leadership skills are equally learned through debates and “Maktaba” to instill oratory skills in pupils.
The school believes that three forces are required to enhance success of our pupils. We use the symbol of the traditional cooking stones, ‘Amaika,” to emphasize required teamwork. Just the way three stones must be in place for the traditional food, “ugali” to be prepared, three categories of people [pupils, teachers & parents] must work as a team to realize the vision of the school. We are glad that the new curriculum equally expects parents to actively participate in the learning process of their children. I am grateful to our parents for walking the journey with Exceed Academy with a view to empowering pupils to become the best in whatever area they wish to pursue.
