GeoForums is an application which facilitates personal conversations, private discussions, and public discussions.
With GeoForums, you can participate in map-based discussions. There are two types of discussions: boats and plots. With plots, you can talk to people interested in the area where the plot is located. With boats, you can participate in discussions that travel the world. You can even vote to steer the ship as it moves.
Each plot has several subthreads, to help you find a nice place to discuss and chat, particularly if the main thread is overcrowded. You can also create custom subthreads. While your subthread names might be only known to you in the beginning, if the subthread becomes popular, it will show up on the popular thread feed.
View nearby threads and the most popular threads to find a discussion you like.
Additionally, you can chat individually or in groups with your friends.
You can see your friends' public activity, which allows you to participate with the discussions your friends are in.
You can follow threads and be notified when there's activity. You can also view the threads you're following and view your personal activity history.
You can create private maps that you and your friends or colleagues can use to benefit from some of the same functionality as the public forums, but in a private setting. You can also create plots on the private maps. While plots on the public map are 4.20 miles in diameter, plots on private maps are only 15 ft in diameter, allowing you and your friends to precisely create discussions on any area of Earth that you'd like. This is great if you want to map out an area and keep up with what you think about it.
