Lines Share tracks multiple performance metrics, compares each team in the matchup, and generates the “true line” for all pro football games. Las Vegas oddsmakers use this same approach to determine the initial line, but then they skew this “true line” based on how they think the public will bet.*
By comparing Lines Share’s predicted spreads and point totals against the casino sportsbook, you will immediately know how many points and in which direction the oddsmakers have skewed the “true line,” which is not available to the betting public.
*It’s important to note that the goal of the oddsmakers is to ensure the betting action is equally divided on both sides of a game, so the line you see in the casino sportsbooks is NOT the oddsmakers expected outcome of a game (i.e., it is not the “true line”). It is a line based on their perception of how the public will wager.

The prognostic algorithm assigns probabilities to the likelihood of each outcome in order to predict season wins, final standings, and the playoff picture. This is done by using historical data from the 1994-2017 seasons relating point spreads to percentage chance of winning.
