Gloria Owendi, commonly referred to as Gloria Muliro (Born 1 April 1980), is a Kenyan Gospel musician[2] and songwriter. She debuted in 2005 when she released her first studio album titled Omwami Aletsa (The Lord is Coming). As of 2013, Muliro has four albums to her name, her most successful being Kibali (Mandate) which has the popular song "Sitolia" (I Won't Cry) featuring Willy Paul. The album earned her six Groove Awards nominations.[3] She went on to receive the female artist of the year award at the eighth Groove awards, an event that was attended by President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta.
Gloria Muliro is a Kenyan Gospel singer who currently lives in Nairobi, Kenya. She was born to peasant parents David Omale and Esther Muliro on April 1, 1980. She grew up in her homeland, Vihiga County in Western Kenya. She is the fourth child among seven siblings. Like any other normal Kenyan teen, Gloria grew up facing lots of challenges after losing her mother at a tender age of nine. Life wasn’t so fair to bless them with heavy pockets. Together with her siblings, she had to stay with some of the affluent relatives before her father came to bring them back home. She once worked as a housemaid receiving a salary of 1300/= a month before she delved into successful singing. She got saved after being influenced by her elder sister Janet and she has never looked back since.
Gloria muliro alboms, songs and career Having been born in a musical family, Gloria quickly adapted to singing as a child. Gloria’s first baby steps was singing in her church's choir. She also became a member of the praise team in 2001, when she now decided to delve into serious singing. Every December, as is typical with Kenyan Christmas Season, She and her siblings would sing in the choir competitions held in churches every year. In 2005, she launched her first song Omwami Aletsa, which saw her skyrocket her fame as a gospel singer. Since then, several of her songs have taken Kenya and beyond by storm.
