TickLinks.com is a centralized library of curated and approved videos that are relevant and interesting for the students. These are organized as per the prescribed textbooks – so that students can easily relate to the content as well as the context. Students can use the content to prepare before classes or revise after class. All this is available online, with an easy-to-use and attractive interface on desktop, mobile and tablet. tickLinks has social features so that the content can be crowd sourced and curated.
TickLinks has two main components. The Open Link Library is a social effort and accessible to the society at large for free. Apart from our own efforts we are attempting to galvanize social effort and contribution to build the Open Link Library. The aim is to keep this free and neutral. Our dream is to grow it, and make it successful on the lines of Wikipedia. We have currently curated about 7,400 videos on the site, and have completed the science stream for - ICSE, CBSE, and SSC Maharashtra - for VII to X standards. We are in the process of adding more classes and domains.
Schools, Colleges can setup its own Private Library by using the content from Open Link Library as foundation. The school can further enrich the library by adding videos from YouTube or from school activities such as science fairs, quizzes, sports day etc.. and other type of content like PowerPoint, Word etc.. into the Library.
This Library can be used to support Active Learning – by tools available in the Library to support Flipped classroom and community learning.
Use of open source and social platforms is a big trend. It provides content from the best providers in the world and a way of managing it within your community. You can use these to benefit your school. It will also create a positive reflection of a leading and innovative institution.
