菲律賓語又稱塔加洛語、他加洛語或他加祿語，在語言分類上屬於南島語系，主要被使用於菲律賓，也廣泛運用於馬來西亞沙巴州、印度尼西亞北部地區和新加坡。菲律賓憲法於1987年定其為國語。在菲律賓將近170種的本土語言中，菲律賓語是唯一具有官方語言地位的一個語言。在總數為7633餘萬的菲律賓人當中，有2148餘萬是以菲律賓語作為母語的。此外，還有將近5000萬的人民，把菲律賓語作為第二語言。
