The case of the Cyprus serial killer motivated us to build the BLOC8 Cryptographic Digital Asset Controller (CDAC) app to help locate missing people. Cyprus police and the judiciary failed to apprehend the infamous serial killer until at least 7 innocent victims had been killed. Years after the people went missing the police argued that they couldn't access phone and social media records as a serious crime may not have been committed.
Without a body or a consent form signed BEFORE the individuals go missing many police forces around the globe do very little to try and trace missing people. It's imperative that the police move quickly when someone disappears as it is far easier to trace them when they have been gone a few days than it is a few years.
BLOC8 will motivate law enforcement agencies to move quickly if you suddenly disappear. The BLOC8 CDAC (more commonly called a 'wallet') helps keep you safe and alerts the authorities if you go missing. Blockchain technology is so much more than cryptocurrencies and the BLOC8 token has no monetary value. It doesn't mean it doesn't have value though.
The BLOC8 token on the ICON blockchain network is used to establish that you are safe and well. If the blockchain network doesn't see a BLOC8 token transfer from you on a regular basis it knows you have disappeared. The form you completed on the BLOC8 website gives the authorities permission to access your phone and social media records as soon as you disappear, rather than them waiting for you body to be found. The website also includes a handy Question and Answer page about the BLOC8 system.
The ICON Foundation was incorporated in the pro crypto nation of Switzerland and operates from South Korea. ICON has a large team of developers to "hyper connect the world" with blockchain and BLOC8 uses their network to "hyper protect the world". The BLOC8 app is based on ICONex but with subtle differences to make it easier for everyone to use i.e. BLOC8 token doesn't need to be manually added and features like one click token send will be implemented in the app.
Blockchain is complex but it doesn't mean a CDAC user interface has to be difficult to use. The BLOC8 app was designed to be used by people aged 6 to 106. Vulnerable members of our society that disappear without a trace need BLOC8 now.
