This app calculates glass weight, stress, and deflection for rectangular glass units using classic plate theory for 4 sided and 2 sided simply supports and using beam equation for cantilevered support.
The calculations performed by this app is intended to be used as preliminary design check of monolithic, laminated, and insulated glass. It shall not be construed that the results are appropriate for final or critical design use. It is highly recommended that an ASTM E1300-16 load resistance analysis or a Finite Element Analysis be carried out for final or critical designs.
