How often have you trawled through reams of NOTAMs looking for something that is relevant to today's flight? How often have your eyes glazed over and you missed something important?
NOTAM filter is designed to help target your attention to the NOTAMs that are important, either those that you have previously identified as pertinent to your operation or new NOTAMs for the location since you last looked.
By defining the start and end times of your flight NOTAM filter will not show you NOTAMs that are active outside that window. Of those NOTAMs that remain you can hide any irrelevant NOTAMs at the press of the screen. Thus over time the program will only present NOTAMs that are relevant to your flight times, that you have previously decided were relevant or any that are new.
When viewing the NOTAM list colours are used to highlight various aspects of the displayed information. When it comes to the activation times these are shown in their original zulu formats but also a plain language decode showing how many minutes, hours or days since or until a NOTAM becomes active. No more trying to work out if it says the twelfth of February or the twentieth of October! Lastly you can specify words or phrases that you want highlighted in the NOTAM text in either red or green.
So whether you are flying the Boeing 737 or 777, Airbus A320, or A330, or a light aircraft for general aviation this app will focus your attention on the NOTAMs that matter.
NOTAMs are currently sourced from either the FAA Pilotweb, NAV Canada, SIA France or the Airservices Australia NAIPS system. Depending on where you are flying you can select the most appropriate provider of your NOTAM information. You also have the option of displaying the latest MET information with the NOTAMs and NAIPS users can include GPS RAIM NOTAMs for Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and the Solomon Islands.
Improve the quality of your pre-flight briefing whilst at the same time doing it faster. You will find this tool indispensable and wonder why you didn't have it sooner!
For NAIPS users: You can enter an area (eg. 41) in the ICAO identifiers input field and get an area briefing as well.
