when you download zap for the first time you'll need to sign in and create a zap wallet address.
this is your own secure location where you can store your zap. your wallet has all of your zap purchases and transfers, plus any memos you've made along the way.
zap is ultra secure and has built in features to keep your all of your precious zap safe.
there is pin and thumbprint recognition, plus a unique personal set of recovery words that you and only you will have a copy of.
this means that if you lose your phone or your pin number you can use your personal set of recovery words to access and recover your zap.
sending zap is easy. from the app dashboard just hit 'send', choose the amount, then scan the QR code or enter the zap wallet address that you want to send to.
there are two ways you can receive zap. if you're with the sender you can hit the 'receive' button, then let them scan your QR code and zap you their chosen amount.
but if you're not with the person zapping you, you can hit the 'receive' button; then copy, paste, and send them your wallet address via a messaging service or email.
paying online with zap is easy as. select the zap payment option during checkout on the red rat website (www.redrat.co.nz). this will display a QR code for you to scan and pay your chosen amount of zap.
to pay, hit the 'send' button on the dashboard of your app, enter the amount you want to pay with zap, select 'scan' and scan the QR code, check the payment details are correct and complete the transaction by hitting the 'send zap' button.
alternatively, you can enter the wallet address displayed under the QR code if you can't scan the QR code.
