Every Friday afternoon the regulators publish a Commitment of Traders (CoT) report with the totals of daily position reports of all large speculators and hedgers as of the Tuesday of that week. The CoT Quant app leverages these data and statistical models to generate actionable trading signals. The model behind the app uses historical positioning data since 2001 to detect statistical anomalies in positioning trends of speculators and hedgers. An optimal combination of change in price and change in positioning trend results in an actionable buy/sell signal.
