We're happy to announce the release of Version 1.5 that features automatic City and Country entry for easier washroom location, along with enhanced Exploring, Global statistics and a 24 hour washroom attribute. Now we're also on Instagram featuring 5 star rated washrooms.
If you're like me you think that good bathrooms are important. For many, it is an issue of accessibility. Knowing which offer wheelchair or 24 hour access can be very important.
As well as providing clean places to go, I believe they are indicative of the care and importance that a business places on cleanliness and hygiene.
Loofind is a user populated application that helps to locate, rate, share information about and recommend publicly accessible washroom facilities worldwide. Its intent is to help people for whom it may be important to know or others who are just interested or curious in finding facilities that are as sanitary and as nearby as possible.
FIND your most appropriate nearby washroom facility based on a set of criteria that you select; maximum distance and cleanliness rating. The app allows you to select a washroom facility and get detailed directions and an ETA from your present location. The app can also be used to EXPLORE facilities from a great distance in a particular City anywhere in the world before you go there. It can also help plan your rest stops in advance.
Using a rating system of 0 – 5 stars, 0 being terrible and 5 being excellent, washrooms that are publicly accessible as defined, can be rated against a user-selected set of criteria with additional commentary and be uploaded to the database for other's benefit.
LooFind is not to be used in places that are not normally accessible to the public where the use of the facilities is generally not taken for granted and would be highly discriminated, that is, ones where you otherwise wouldn't have any business in unless you were specifically invited or escorted.
NOTE: LooFind is easy, fast and fun to use and works worldwide. The washroom database is populated by users on a voluntary basis and therefore will be limited in size early on. We appreciate your patience as the database grows and hope that you will help to add to it. Currently there are listings in Canada, US, Ireland, Germany and Greece!
