The emotion planets app helps put you on a journey for personal growth, however, instead of being introspective, escape the loop of rumination and learn how to move forward for real and do it in an insightful way.
The Emotion Planets app is inspired by several Ted Talks and some research based on 5 elements of Emotional intelligence and is the Truth, Wisdom and Idea thought and created by Octavia Luise Costa with help from her 9 year old son Jacob Lewis Costa who has taught her a lot about how she see’s herself, her own emotions and behaviours and how her son see’s her.
Octavia once turned to her son Jacob and said ‘you are making me feel so angry’ and Jacob quickly responded, ‘How can I make you feel angry because that’s your emotion not mine’.
This is true, Jacob wasn’t injecting her with Angry, it was her emotion, her choice to feel it and by taking a step back in observing herself she realised that ‘Anger’ wasn’t who she was but it was how she choose to feel and so she challenged herself to recognise Angry or any other emotion, observe it and diffuse it as quickly as possible in a self care way.
Children feel their way through their feelings, both the good and the bad. But they also forgive the quickest. Laugh the easiest. Love the strongest. By allowing themselves to be entirely emotionally present, children allow themselves to move through their emotions more quickly.
